Thai language has sounds you probably haven’t heard before and is a tonal language so the same sound can mean different things. A few basic Thai words and phrases can get you a long way even if most of the Thai people that you meet in Thailand will be able to speak at least a little English. However they will be happy if you make an effort to talk to them in their own tongue.
First thing to know : To be polite men say Krap and women say Ka at the end of any sentence.
