Cha-Am (it can also be written Cha am or Chaam, in Thai ชะอำ) is located 170 km south from Bangkok (2 hours by car) and 25 km north from Hua Hin, the famous seaside resort. Whereas Hua Hin has more facilities and a lot to offer for tourists (shopping, restaurants, entertainment...), Cha-Am is appreciated for its quiet and laidback atmosphere, its 5 km long beach, and its wide range of restaurants and accomodations.
From Bangkok you have a two hours by car to Cha am city center.
Weather in Cha'am : 3 seasons
- Cool Season : December to February. The daytime temperature is fairly comfortable with the maximum temperature around 25°C/78°F, the night, the weather is cooler, and can drop to near freezing in the mountains.
- Hot Season : February to May. The temperature can get up to 35°C /88°F and by May, the rain arrives.
- Rainy Season : May to November. Normally, The rain come in short bursts of in the afternoon or early evenings, and usually only last an hour. The landscape is beautifully green and the average temperature during this season is around 31°C/84°F.
Getting around Cha'am :.
How to get there : Air-conditioned buses depart from Bangkok's Mochit 2 Bus Terminal to Hua hin or by taxi from Bangkok it takes 2 or 3 hours.
